Amity Acres Breeds World Class Quarter and Paint Horses

Amity Acres in Ringtown, Schuylkill County, stands the best selection of AQHA and APHA stallions in Pennsylvania. Doug Gantz founded Amity Acres in Florida, soon bringing his mother, Nancy Gantz Miernicki, into the business. When the successful operation outgrew its Florida facility, the family returned to its northeastern Pennsylvania roots, purchasing a former Standardbred farm that was the center of Ringtown, PA.
“Until his untimely death in July, 2009, Doug was always in search of the next great stallion to breed to his top quality paint and quarter horse mares,” Miernicki said. “This truly was his passion and we are honored to carry on his dream.”

The farm’s fifteen stallions are available to outside mares by live cover or artificial insemination, and semen is shipped across the country. Stallions include:

  • SMS Boogity Boogity, 2009 Congress Reserve Grand Champion and AQHA Reserve World Champion
  • HK Extraordinary, six time APHA and APtHA World or Reserve World Champion
  • Custom Imprint, five time APHA and APtHA World or Reserve World Champion
  • OBG Imprinted Mr, four time APHA and APtHA World or Reserve World Champion
  • Sierras Black Gold, sire of multiple world and futurity champions
  • Kiss This Kid, 2003 Palomino Horse Breeders Association World Champion stallion
  • The End Zone, Sire of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 APHA and APtHA World and Reserve World Champions.
  • First Rate Lad, Superior Halter Stallion

Amity Acres produces approximately 30 top quality babies a year. They are trained and fit for showing and sale at the farm, which has produced approximately 30 World or Reserve World Champions. The same quality fitting and training program is available to outside horses, as well as training for halter or western showing. Full care and field board is offered and a nice selection of horses is always available for sale.
For The Horse Farms Open House: Amity Acres will have pony rides, demonstrations of halter showing and training demonstrations by a Parelli trainer. Lunch will be available benefitting the PPHC Douglas Gantz Memorial Scholarship Fund.
