Oakridge Stables Enables Boarders to Enjoy Time with Their Horse

Oakridge Stable is a boarding facility providing a serene, safe and enjoyable atmosphere for training and trail riding. Owners Glenn and Bonny Myers provide friendly, reliable care at reasonable rates. The 110 acre farm has numerous trails traversing the scenic farmland and woodlands, and scheduled group trail rides, moonlight rides and snow rides are favorites among boarders. Facilities include two barns with a total of 32 stalls, a large 100 by 300 foot outdoor arena, round pen, and hot and cold wash stalls.

Oak Ridge AerialIn 1997, Oakridge Stables began with an eight stall barn on eight acres. This barn still provides a quiet and serene home for the farm’s older horses. In 2004, the Myers’ added acres of lush pasture, a new 24-stall barn, a large 100x300 foot outdoor arena, a 50 foot round pen, automatic waterers, grooming stalls, and a large dry lot for use when pastures are wet. Horses are fed twice daily in their stalls then turned out, weather permitting. The farm even produces its own quality hay.

Oakridge Stables takes pride in providing the reliable daily routine horses love, and its friendly knowledgeable staff. The stables are well maintained and arenas and trails are groomed regularly. Boarders may bring in an outside trainer and training clinics are planned beginning this summer.

“We believe time spent with your horse is very special,” Glenn Myers said. “No matter if they’re working their horse in the pen or arenas or riding the trails, we want everyone to enjoy the time they spend with their horses.”

For the Horse Farms Open House: Oakridge Stables will conduct guided barn tours, and demonstrations of gaited and non-gaited riding and driving. A Doebler’s seed sales representative will answer questions on pasture mixes and offer tips for pasture and hay field maintenance. Children can interact with the miniature horses and refreshments sold.
