Shady Dell Stables
Shady Dell Stables Helps Make the Most of Your Time with Horses

Hunter/jumpers, eventing, dressage, trail, western pleasure, barrel racing and showmanship are the wide variety of disciplines practiced by boarders and students at Shady Dell Stables. A team of experienced equestrian professionals works together to ensure exceptional care and an enjoyable, safe, relaxed environment in which to enjoy horses. The world-class facility features 20 large 12’ by 12’ stalls, tack rooms and wash stall, large indoor and outdoor arenas, ample green pastures with automatic waterers, and easy access to miles of trails. Full care and pasture board are offered.

Shady Dell PhtotBoarders and students come from York, Hanover, Gettysburg, Carlisle and surrounding areas to enjoy the 35 acres of scenic woodland and pastures, and access to miles trails from the stables, as well as close by access to trails in Codorus and Pinchot State Parks, the York County Rail Trail, and the Gettysburg Battlefield. Owners Mark and Kim Pandola, along with dedicated staff, pride themselves on exceeding their customers’ expectations while helping them get the most from the time they have to work and learn with horses. They focus on the care, comfort and safety of the horses while offering unparalleled service, competitive prices and overall value for the discriminating horse owner. All breeds are welcome.
Lessons focus on balanced and centered riding to enhance confidence and skills. Shady Dell’s lesson program offers a solid foundation in English and western disciplines for youth and adults.

Haley Rudacille is the latest addition to the lesson program. With more than ten years experience in 4-H and a national C3 Pony Club ranking, Haley is a well rounded, enthusiastic and dedicated instructor. In the several years she has been teaching her students have won at local, district, and regional events in a variety of classes such as hunters/jumpers, eventing, western pleasure, equitation, trail, and showmanship. Haley was nominated for the American Youth Horse Council Student Leader of the year and will travel to Kentucky in March to meet the other nominees. She is also a finalist for Pennsylvania’s Outstanding 4-H member upon her award as York County’s outstanding 4-H member. Haley was also the recipient of the Catlin Ben-Dror Memorial Dressage Scholarship in 2009.

Daytime barn manager Joyce Dougherty has worked with horses for 25 years, beginning as a youth in 4-H and competing in local hunter/jumper competitions, and continuing with her children in Pony Club. She won Horse and Rider of the Year for Maryland and the Justin Rookie of the Year award from the Maryland Quarter Horse Association.

For the Horse Farms Open House: Shady Dell Stables will feature demonstrations and offer a discounted lesson package. Visitors can observe the farm while lessons and the daily activities go on, and staff and local Pony Club and 4-H members will answer questions and provide information. Refreshments will be available along with a bake sale.
