From the Dixon Oval to the Carriage Pleasure Drive, the 2026 show blends world-class competition with time- honored spectacle. an FEI CSI4* event, these classes offer competitors the opportunity to earn valuable world ranking points while competing before an engaged and knowledgeable crowd. Opening weekend, known as “Junior Weekend,” runs May 20 through May 24 and showcases top young riders from across the country. Competing in jumpers, hunters, equitation, and the highly anticipated lead line classes, these children and teen riders take center stage in the Dixon Oval, gaining valuable experience in one of the sport’s most iconic settings. Devon remains a cornerstone of hunter competition, with all divisions rated USEF Premier. A highlight of the week is the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by theWheeler family, scheduled for Thursday, May 28 at 8:30 a.m. This fan-favorite class consistently draws top hunter talent and offers spectators a chance to watch precision, style, and horsemanship at the highest level. The 59th Annual Carriage Pleasure Drive returns Sunday, May 24. Since its inception in 1966, this beloved tradition has brought spectators to the streets surrounding Devon, where they gather in anticipation of the elegant procession of carriages. The festivities beginwith spectator picnic judging at 11 a.m. at St. David’s Church, followed by the traditional drive back to the Devon ShowGrounds and culminating in the awards ceremony in theDixonOval at noon. From May 27 through May 30, the graceful Saddlebred and Hackney divisions take center stage in the DixonOval.These disci- plines feature standout classes such as the $3,000Opportunity Battle of the Breeds on Friday, May 29.The $50,000DevonArena Eventing returns for its ninth year, once again sponsored by B&D Builders and Goshen Hill. This dynamic competition blends cross-country and stadium jumping elements across both the Dixon Oval and Wheeler Ring, with a technically demanding course designed by Olympic gold medalist Captain Mark Phillips of Great Britain. New for 2026, Carriage Eventing makes its debut on Monday, May 25, offering a fresh and exciting addition to the schedule. Featuring a fast-paced cones phase where precision and timing are critical, the competition challenges drivers through tight turns and penalty-prone obstacles, delivering an engaging and energetic experience for spectators. Family-friendly exhibitions take place throughout the show, beginning Saturday,May 23 with the Costume Pony Hunt Teams and the ever-pop- ular Radnor Hunt Hounds. Additional highlights include theWIHS Shetland Pony Stee- plechase onMay 24 and 25, as well as Family Day on Tuesday, May 26, offering entertainment and activities for all ages. The event concludes Sunday, May 31 with the breeding division in the Dixon Oval, beginning at 8 a.m. These classes spotlight the country’s most promising young horses, providing a fitting finale that reflects Devon’s commitment to the future of the sport.
